The Story
Youth Trip Philippines (YTRiP) is as an evolution
of youth tourism program ideas for people with little
resources, helpful wanderlust, and youthful patriotism
to travel around the country.
In 2005, Clare finalized ideas for a youth travel organization
that would encourage Pinoys to travel around
the country and experience its richness.
It is to be an organization that responds to
the sad situation of Philippine heritage and
the environment, and to the continuous call
for more participatory nation-building.
Borne out of an insistence to share travel experiences
and stories, friends stepped up and began to help.
Gathered from various backgrounds and interests, friends
and family stepped up. Travelers, history lovers, writers,
photographers, professionals, and students - Proud
Pinoys alike - launched as YTRiP in November 2006.
YTRIP was formed to inform, inspire
and enable the Filipino youth
to truly discover home, and choose
to help value our heritage, sustain the environment,
and get to know our fellow Filipinos.
It is a new kind of tourism, a different kind of response.
And the rest, as they say, is history. Better yet, their-story.
