You say GO! We ask, WHERE?
Driven by our desire for hometown explorations and inspired by Lonely Planet's Experimental Travel, we're asking YOU to help us create a resource of itineraries and ideas.
Join the YTRIP Do-It-Yourself-Tour competition! Open to all Metro Manila-based Pinoys, this itinerary-making contest is the most flexible and unbiased contest yet. All you need to do is go out, explore, document, and share! And hurry!
The first three entries we receive win! You can get cool travel gear and Pinoy stuff -
but we're mum about the prizes to see how many travelers want to share their adventures regardless of what's in it for
them.
Wanna give it a GO? See the details below.

The YTRIP Do-It-Yourself Tour
An Itinerary-Making Competition (CY 2009)
The DIY Tour is part of YTRIP's PiliPinas campaign and search for alternative Pinoy travel concepts.
MECHANICS:
1. Check out the LP website and our Resources Section to get some ideas.
2. Go out, explore, and design your itinerary. It should include: (a) pictures (b) details of the places (i.e. address/contact info and significance), and (c) a budget. Note that the tour should be done in one day and can be done by other people who are not from your place.
3. This contest is limited to Metro Manila-based travelers only BUT the itineraries can feature ANY site in the Philippines. No red light districts, please.
4. Why? Because contest submission is through POST! (yes, snail mail!)
Buy or make a postcard of the place you chose (in it, write your full name, mailing address, mobile number, and email address).
On a separate sheet of paper, put in your itinerary and details of the sites, and some pictures - be as creative as you want to be. Put them all in an envelope and mail to:
The YTRIP DIY Tour
Recreational Outdoor Exchange (R.O.X.)
ROX Building, B1 Bonifacio High Street
The Fort, Taguig City
*Handcarried entries will NOT be accepted.
5. Afterwards, give us a heads-up via email with (a) your name, (b) contact info, (c) name of the place, (d) the date you sent your entry, and (d) the soft copy of the pictures.
THIS HEADS-UP IS REQUIRED :-) Even if we get your snail mail submission, we won't consider it without the email.
6. We will announce the winners when we have received the first three entries HOWEVER we would accept all the entries and post them in a special page in the YTRIP website to share with all the other travelers. All submissions will be credited accordingly. We will also contact you should we need more info.
7. The Awarding will be on the next Backpacking Pilipinas session – as soon as we get the first three entries. Winners will receive a CALL from us (no text messages and no email).
8. This contest is open to all Metro Manila-based Pinoys (citizenship/ nationality). No age limit.
